IRISH ELOPEMENT // ARAN ISLANDS
What an honour it was to capture Matt & Laura’s Irish Elopement Aran Islands.
These remote Islands are off the coast of Gallway and the only way to get across is by a small boat (rather rocky ride).
When Laura got in touch all the way from the USA to say she’s eloping with only 15 guests to a ruined church, I was so excited! Everything about the sound of their wedding sounds perfect, adventurous and heaps of fun.
Their Celtic ceremony was very emotion with moving to different locations for mini blessings, like touching a stone, lifting a candle, dipping hands in water. All of this took place of a ruined church on top of the hill, overlooking the coast.
It was beautiful to capture something so unique and emotional. After the ceremony, their guest headed off to the local pub while Laura & Matt had some alone time for their couple portraits.
Despite the rain we headed to the beach and it really did feel like we were at the end of the earth!
Laura & Matt then finished their celebrations with Guinness in the local Irish pub!
